Q: I didn't receive my item. What should I do?

You should check with the Member who should have sent the item that they did send it and that they have the Proof of Postage document. 


Either you or the Member who posted the item will need to make a claim from the Post Office using an Inland P58 form. You can download a copy of the form here

You will need the co-operation of the Member you dealt with – either to make the claim on your behalf or to securely send you the original Proof of Postage document so that you can make the claim.

If you are making a claim for compensation you will need to enclose the original Proof of Postage document (not a copy) and a copy of your Paypal account or other confirmation of payment and purchase price.

Please provide the other Member with copies of all correspondence. In the event of compensation not being obtained from Royal Mail for any reason, the buyer can always fall back on making a claim on Paypal.

Playr2 cannot get involved in any disputes of this kind as the service is provided free of charge. However, you can leave Member feedback, but please remember to keep it factual.

Q: Can I style / format my messages?

Yes you can if you wish. Styling is done via the Textile markup language which consists of the following:

Emphasized text

_emphasized_ (e.g., italics)

Q: How do my achievements work?

You earn Awards for completing sections of your Account and performing certain actions, such as:

  • Initial sign up
  • Personal details completition
  • Add your currently owned games
  • Add your played games
  • Send 5 referrals
  • Choose your top 10 favourite games

Q: How is my member rating calculated?

Your Member Rating is an average based on any feedback you have received from other Members following a transaction, be it positive or negative.

Q: How do I get entered into competitions?

Every time you do one of the things shown below you gain an automatic entry into the current month’s and year’s prize draws. At end of each month and year a winner is picked at random:

  • Sign up to Playr2 and complete your profile
  • Refer a friend who subsequently signs up to Playr2
  • Buy, sell or swap a game through the Marketplace
  • Successfully complete a transaction with one of our partner merchants shown as earning you a competition entry on the price comparison tables (shown by a star)
  • Add a Review that gets approved
  • Add Price News that gets approved

Remember, every time you do any of the above you gain another entry into both prize draws!

N.B. You must make sure our link to the merchant site is the last link to them that you click before you go ahead and purchase. Otherwise we won't get the notification that you went ahead and purchased. If you want to double check discount codes at another site first then you must click our link again before purchasing to get your competition entries.

Q: What is my Username / Display name?

Your Username / Display Name is the name other Members of the site will see when you wish to make a trade in the Marketplace or wish to post an item of news or similar.

Q: Do you show prices for consoles?

We certainly do!

The main search box is optimised for games only. But under this box there's a tab for you to flick across to consoles (or accessories or news) for the platform you're currently browsing. Or if you're on the home page just select a platform first.

Once you're browsing consoles or accessories you can filter the list by price and free text as well as new or pre-owned.

All genuine emails from us should have instructions of how to stop receiving them at the bottom. If this is not the case then please let us know and we will either fix it if genuine, or investigate where it has come from if it's not one of ours.
